Ok the doors to The Corner are open again. I have been itching to give my opinion of some of the many things going on in the world of sports and just haven't had the time to get to it.
The thing that brings me back is Jerry Sandusky, the now infamous ex coach at Penn State.
His latest comment was that he has a different definition of what is appropriate behavior between children and adults. Previously he admitted to showering with young boys saying he was just "horsing around."
Please no more, my stomach can't take it. Please go away somewhere where the public doesn't know about what you are doing. Hopefully a prison cell will take care of that situation and we can only hope no one cares about interviewing him, allowing for more stupid comments.
The whole mess will ruin one of the greatest coaching legacies in history. Joe Paterno will now be remembered for what ever his role was in the mess. He won't go down as having more wins that almost any other coach in history. He won't go down as the coach who loved his team so much that he coached from the press box when he couldn't walk the sidelines. People won't remember him as a coaching icon.
Paterno's mistake was trying to hard to protect his coaches. When he learned of the situation involving Sandusky he should have called the police before he called his athletic director. He made a mistake that he will likely regret the rest of his life. This is in no way a justification but again, he made a mistake, unfortunately we all do that from time to time.
Anyway, it is Christmas, lets forget this mess and move on to college basketball, the NFL and Canes hockey. Lets pull hard for North Carolina State and try and forget Penn State.
Y'all come back to get my view of what is going on.
