I am sorry I missed the Women's World Cup game this weekend. It looks like it was a classic.
Soccer, what the Spanish call futbol, will never replace the NFL on the list of fan favorites but it seems to be gaining momentum among young people. If NFL players forfeit part of the coming season because of a strike the gap will be even closer.
Read a piece last week that Tiger Woods is getting into financial trouble. Hard to feel sorry for the guy but I would like to see him back on the course. That would quickly solve any financial stress if he won a few.
While he has been out a group of young golfers have set their eyes on replacing Mr. Woods. It looks like the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus is going to maintain his title as the best golfer ever.
And on another Tiger note, he just released a statement that he basically fired caddie Stevie Williams. His thought was he needed a change. No kidding you need a change, but getting rid of the best caddie in the history of the game isn't it.
Your game will never get back to the level where it was until you change yourself back into the young man who played the game with magical excitement. For Steve Williams, good luck with Adam Scott, its time to put the nightmare of Tiger Woods' life in the rear view mirror.
Stay tuned, the door to "The Corner" is always open for visitors. The problem is I have been slack with my posts. I will do better!
