Pack fans have to be patient

I had the unique experience yesterday of listening to an entire broadcast of a North Carolina State basketball game. As I drove along country roads listening intently I got a positive feeling about the program's future. Even though the boys in red lost the signs of improvement are there.
Mark Godfried has one disadvantage, his fans. There may be some fans worse than those who back N.C.State but that is hard to imagine. I only have to utter the words Herb Sendek. He took his succesful coaching style to Arizona State because he grew tired of constant criticism. He got tired of being compared to the teams who wear blue in both Chapel Hill and Durham.
Tom O'Brien, leader of the Pack football program is on dangerous water in relation to his fans. It is only the largest comeback in Wolfpack history against Maryland to make his team bowl eligible that kept his head off the chopping block, temporarily, as he now prepares for a bowl game.
MarkGodfried could be the next Coach K if given the chance. If those who flock to the RBC center will give him the opportunity he could be another Roy Williams. Fans just have to give them a chance.
