OK sports fans, we all know what time of year it is, the time when we all enjoy getting gifts from those we know and love. The sports world is no different with teams and individuals wishing Santa would pay them a visit. These are a few things they would like to see under the tree.
Tiger Woods would love to see March under the tree in December. After his recent win, ending a torturous drought, he has to be ready for the new year to begin so he can continue the momentum.
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rogers would like a big old “I told you so” sign he could send to Brett Favre. Rogers developed in Favre’s shadow but was faced with criticism when he was named as a replacement for the future hall of famer. He is showing he is up to the task.
The National Basketball Association would like a way to turn back the clock so they could find a way to erase the last several months. Their extended labor dispute will linger in the minds of fans for years to come. The greed that sparked the dispute will never be forgotten by those who pay hard earned money to watcher performers in what is truly “just a game.”
The Carolina Panthers, well not sure what they might like, but anything has to be better than what they have now. Cam Newton will, someday, be a start in the league but time will only tell if that is in Charlotte. Currently, he does not have the supporting cast to push his team over the top. The leadership of the Panthers needs to work on that quickly or risk Newton looking for other opportunities.
New Anaheim Angel, and former St. Louis Cardinal, Albert Pujols could possibly want nothing from Santa this year. With a salary that is reaching towards the billion dollar mark over the terms of his contract, he can buy anything he needs. The jolly old elf might be coming to him for a loan to meet his Christmas Even obligations.
This little, insignificant blogger and writer, would wish only for a good 2012 for visitors and readers. Though shortages of time have kept me from this space as much as I would like, readers can look forward to my unique views of the sports world in the next 12 months. It will be like nothing else on the web.
