I have never been a fan of Michael Vick, or his brother for that matter. Maybe that is one reason why I hate Virginia Tech sports so much. But even with everything that has gone on for the past couple of years, dogfighting or maybe filing for bankrupt in 2008 and making 6.2 million in the next two year, I jumped on the bandwagon and said lets give this man another chance. The main reason for this is that Tony Dungy, the best coach and one of the best men on earth, said that Vick deserved another chance. So now a year after his return to the NFL I am ready to jump off one bandwagon and onto another one.
Vick's federal probation officer is looking into a shooting at Michael's 30th birthday party in a Virginia Beach nightclub. It wouldn't be such an issue to me except for the fact that the man shot is a co-defendant from the dog fighting trials. The real sticky part is that a week ago police had no reason to suspect that Vick had any dealings in the shooting but after video surveillance was released this week they have made a 180 degree turn and now are looking more closely at Vick.
It should be noted that Dungy did say this, "The only thing he is guilty of is using bad judgment and attending and publicizing parties open to the public and utilizing his name to get people there. Hopefully he learns from this." As you can tell this is wise advise for Vick but still the next couple of weeks could be interesting to see where this heads so stay posted at the Corner.
UPDATE:
As of Thursday night police say that they have not ruled out Vick as a suspect in the shooting. The are waiting for more information before stating anything further. Reports are that Vick is seen going off screen of a video camera in the direction that the gunfire came from just minutes before the shootings. There also have been rumors that his brother Marcus Vick could have been involved in the shooting as well. The NFL and Roger Goodell are also looking into this matter as a year ago upon reinstatement Goodell said the margin for error for Vick is "extremely limited."
