野球 (Yakyū) Japanese,
beisbol, Spanish
(Bàngqiú pǔtōnghuà, Mandarin Chinese
die baseball, German
and just plain baseball, that is obvious!

Those are a few of the ways youngsters in Williamsport, Pa. are referring to the game that has once again brought the attention of the world on the Little League World Series.
The World Series is one of the sporting events that extends beyond the field. Kids who don't look alike, talk alike and who come from different ways of life get between two chalk lines and become like one.
They become friends with players they will never see again. They compete as hard as they can but display good sportsmanship when they lose. As in many cases we adults could learn a few lessons.
This weekend, find a cold whatever it is you drink, put your feet up on the couch and enjoy the real meaning of the game.
