NCSU NIT Bound

NC State (19-15) makes the post season NIT by winning 5 of their last 6 games. This included wins over NCAA tournament teams Wake Forest, Clemson and Florida State. They will face off against a middle of the road Big East team South Florida (20-12) Tuesday at 8pm on ESPNU. The game will be played at USF.

Other ACC teams to make the NIT field are Virginia Tech and UNC. Virginia Tech grabbed a one seed in a different part of the bracket while UNC grabbed a 4 seed, even though they are the only team in the field of 32 not to have a winning record, in the Pack's side of the Bracket.

I feel as if NCSU has a little left in the gas tank for this year, at least enough to hit the sought after 20 win mark. If they won against USF they would most likely face UAB next. A ESPN analysis agreed that NC State could make a run in the NIT when he said, "NC State is the other team on this side of the bracket that intrigues me…I think NC State is a scary team."

UNC plays William and Mary at home on Tuesday as well which will be on ESPN. Personally I hope UNC gets plowed at home to end their horrific season as well as adding one lost to turn their .500 season to a losing season. Va Tech will play Quinnipiac on Wednesday at 7 pm in Blacksburg.
