NC State Beats USF

NC State (20-15) beat South Florida (20-13) on Tuesday night 57-56. The game came right down to the wire with South Florida being unable to get a final shot off before the game ended.

NC State managed to hold on despite a poorly called game. USF shot 31 free throws to NC States 10. Thats 21 more free throws than NC State. This is the reason it came right down to the wire. To top off the poorly called game the referee crew gave USF an extra 2 seconds at the end of the game when the clock did not start.

Dennis Horner had a career game with 25 points and Tracy Smith followed up with a 14 points, 10 of which came in a strong second half. Dominique Jones had 24 points for USF 8 of which came on his 15 free throws.

NC State will now face UAB in Birmingham on Saturday with a time that is still to be determined.
